The historic Village of Milan is the birthplace of Thomas A. Edison and recognized by the National Trust as a Distinctive Destination. Visitors to the Milan Museum will learn a history rich in progress and creativity. Milestones in both history and invention are displayed in the history galleries. Explore the rise of the Milan Canal through the genius of Thomas Edison! The new glass galleries explore European and American glass from the earliest piece in the collection of Roman glass through the works of contemporary, local artists. The Milan Museum offers a day exploring historic buildings, filled with engaging exhibits and hands-on activities. Special events and programs for the whole family all year!

Come and experience a Victorian Tea Party. Tea, hot cocoa and light fare will be served at 3:00 pm. $15.00 registration is required and includes a souvenir tea cup! Deadline: Thursday, January 17, 2019.



Idea Factory Workshop

Recreate some of Edison’s most famous inventions at the Milan Museum’s new Idea Factory workshop on Saturday, February 9, 2019!!! Make a potato-powered light bulb, create a motion picture flip book and participate in a science scavenger hunt!  Are you an inventor?  Find out with your very own science journal. $15 registration fee includes all supplies and refreshments. Adult supervision is required! Sessions run from 10 am to 2 pm. Call 419-499-2968 to reserve your space today! Registration deadline: Thursday, February 7, 2019.

Celebrate Thomas Edison’s birthday on February 10, 2019 at the monthly Free Community Day. Tour the museum or free from 1-5 pm.
