Visit the Village of Milan, birthplace of America’s greatest inventor, Thomas A. Edison and a National Trust for Historic Preservation Distinctive Destination. The Milan Museum is located in the heart of Milan’s historic district and offers an excursion into the past with new interactive exhibits. Our campus offers six exhibit buildings with something for everyone to explore.

| Newton Arts Building |
Galpin Residence |
Opened in 1971, the Edna Roe Newton Memorial Arts Building houses decorative arts acquired from around the world. Travel to Asia, South America and Europe all under one roof. |
The Galpin House, named for the doctor who constructed the house in 1846, is now the center of the Milan Museum's campus. |
| Doll & Toy House |
Sayles House |
The Doll & Toy House features the outstanding Mildred Smith Coulton Doll Collection, over 350 charming examples of china, bisque, wax, paper mache and composition dolls. |
The 1843 Sayles House was the home to Captain Kline and his family. The fully restored Victorian home includes an above-ground cellar, parlor and music room. |
| Blacksmith Shop & Carriage Shed |
General Store |
The Blacksmith Shop is packed with the smithy's tools of the trade. Adjacent is the Carriage Shed where buggies, fire equipment, tools, and farm implements remind us of the days before steam and gas powered engines.
|
The Lockwood, Smith & Co. General Store is a replica of the typical town market where prescriptions could be filled, calico and lace bought for a special dress, and exotic coffee beans ground to your liking. |
| Four Seasons Statue Garden |
Ohio & Milan History |
The Four Seasons Perennial Garden, graced by marble statues representing Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter is just one of many quiet niches.
|
If you are not aware of the unique heritage of our village of Milan and the land grant area of which it is a part, then we would like to give you a look back in time. |
